Deleted Still Photos Accessible For 30 Months

Better be careful if going to post photos on Facebook, especially including the controversial photos were posted. Although have been removed, but the image can still be accessed by others for 30 months.

Popular social networking site, it also admitted that his side have kept some photos 'forbidden' that have been removed until the time limit expires.
But users who still keep the original link where the photo was posted, can access it over time, even for a few years. 


As reported by Sydney Morning Herald and quoted on Wednesday (13/10/2010), a user up claim to have removed the photo from the 2.5-year or 30 months ago, but the picture can still be seen on the same site. Other users also said that his photos have been removed since April 2009, can still be accessed. 


That problem is known as the CDN (Content Distribution Network), where the system is capable of storing a copy of the content servers around the world. 


Facebook spokesman, Simon Axten, said that his company will actively address these issues related to privacy CDN Facebook users who had had lively discussion. 


"There is a possibility that someone who previously had access to images and save the address of the link, can still access the photos that have been removed," said Axten. "It should be remembered, the person must know the address of the original links and images stored in the CDN is limited by time," he concluded
