Police Standby 24 Hours in Twitter

Police Greater Manchester Police in the UK try to put the power of Twitter. They claim a success melakoni an experiment, in which they treated each incident reported via Twitter 24 hours.

In the pilot, which included a large police station in the UK is to publish around 3000 incidents to Twitter. From large enough incidents like rape and petty theft, all published.

Apparently, the police wanted to prove to people that they are serious in working. Therefore, they expose all the events that they handle to Twitter, precisely to account @ gmpolice.

"We try to give a message that we are serious about transparency. In addition to dealing with serious crime, we are actually addressing some social issues and some things that might surprise the public," said Peter Fahy, one of the police.

Indeed, some people reported the incident to the police quite laughable. For example, there are disturbing reports of a rat house. There is also a woman for help on how to sue a social institution because he had no money.

During the experiment, the police arrested 341 people and detained 126 of them in jail. And apparently, the public was quite impressed with the publication of police activity on Twitter these.

"They're doing far more work than I figured before," commented one Twitter user, such as detikINET quotes from the Telegraph on Saturday (10/15/2010).
